Defining Your Golfing Level
Don't know which league to select? Are you a beginner, advanced beginner, an experienced golfer with years of golf experience or a competitive player? We have created the following definitions to help you determine which league is best suited to your playing ability, to ensure a great golfing experience:
Beginner – You have either never played golf or have played without lessons or guidance. You have trouble hitting the ball consistently, do not know the rules or etiquette of golf and have limited knowledge of course management.
Advanced Beginner – You have taken some lessons but are still having trouble with consistency and feeling comfortable on the course. You are not always sure about club selection and may just be starting to keep score.
General Player – You feel good about your golf game and are comfortable playing on the course. You generally choose the right club, know golf etiquette and are familiar with many USGA golf rules. You post your scores whether you played well or not and generally score between 105-135 on an 18 hole round.
Intermediate Player – You know most of the rules, always keep score and may post scores to maintain your handicap. You play fast and ready golf and usually score between 95-115 during your 18 hole rounds.
Advanced Competitive Player – You score between 70-100 on 18 holes, play competitively, and know all of the USGA rules. You have a handicap of 28 or lower and post scores after each round of golf.
