WGANJ Members can register for 2008 golf league play in our members only area of the website. You must be an Active 2008 Golf Season WGANJ member to register for a league. Requests will be processed on a first-come basis and you will be notified by email or phone that your spot has been reserved. Please indicate your 1st and 2nd choices for league play. You will be placed in your 1st choice if space is available; if not, we will place you in your 2nd choice. You may also register for more than one league. ADVANCED BEGINNER LEAGUE PROGRAM: For golfers who have already participated in Beginner leagues or for individuals who want to play in a supportive environment. The 17-week season will consist of 4 instructional activities (2 on league night) and 15 weeks of league play. See the notes below for a description of the Advanced Beginner League Program.

INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE PROGRAM: For golfers with a handicap between 18 and 35 or the equivalent score of 100 to 120. These leagues include some golf games and team competitions and players are introduced to competitive play in a supportive environment.

Payment of your 2008 membership dues of $75 is required prior to registering for a league. Please complete the separate membership registration document and submit it with your payment or register online.

WGANJ offers golf leagues grouped by five different levels of play: Beginner, Advance Beginner, General (21–40 handicap), Intermediate (18-35) and Advanced (<28). Before you register for a league, review the description of the level of play for that league. Playing in a league that is structured to support your level of play will allow for a better golfing experience during the season for you and your fellow golfers.

• Triple Play- to offer some variety, these leagues play at 3 courses- Darlington, Rockleigh, and Valley Brook.
• Weekday leagues are 9 holes (see note below Other Leagues); begin the week of May 5 and run for 15 weeks, unless otherwise noted. Weekday tee times typically start between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. (Paramus leagues start at 5:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday and 4:30 on Wednesday and Thursday although golfers must exercise flexibility regarding the tee time starts at this course).
• Leagues may play on national holidays. Golfers will be advised of the schedule at the beginning of the season.
• Rain play and makeup policies vary by course and members will be advised of the policy at the beginning of the season.
• Registration must include full payment for league fees. We are using best estimates for 2008 fees. If the league fees change before the start of the season, you will be notified to bring the additional balance due for your play the first night of your league.
• Annual fees must be paid in full. If you are not able to make a full payment for league fees, please contact Valerie Oakes-Locascio at vol128@msn.com or 201-838-7587 to arrange a payment plan. Payment must be completed by April 15.
• There are no refunds for league fees after April 15, 2008. Members have the option to sell their regular season to another member if they are unable to complete the league season or they may use a substitute.
• League play may be pre-empted by a course outing. Ample notice will be provided and a makeup date will be scheduled.
• WGANJ reserves the right to cancel a league before the season begins due to low subscription; however, we will make every effort to place you in another league or you have the option to receive a full refund.
• Credit card payments including American Express will be handled via Pay Pal through online registration only available at the member’s only section of the website at www.wganj.org.

BEGINNER GOLFERS

Beginner leagues will consist of 12 instructional activities and 7 weeks of league play:

• Mondays- March 24 thru April 14: lessons at Willowbrook Golf Center OR
• Tuesdays- March 25 thru April 15: lessons at Willowbrook Golf Center
• Saturdays- 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/17: lessons at Paramus Golf Club
• Monday, May 5- Walk through on the course with pros at Meadows Golf Club
• Mondays- May 19, 6/9, & 6/23: on the course lessons at Paramus Golf Club OR
• Tuesdays- May 20, 6/10, & 6/24: on the course lessons at Meadows Golf Club
• Week of July 7: regular league play begins for 7 weeks

ADVANCED BEGINNER GOLFERS

• The Advanced Beginner League at Meadows, Paramus, and Pinch Brook will include refresher clinics at Paramus Golf Club Saturdays, April 19 & April 26 and on the course playing lessons at Paramus Golf Club on Wednesdays, May 21 & May 28 OR Meadows Golf Club on Thursdays, May 22 & May 29.

OTHER LEAGUES

• Weekday leagues are planned for 9-hole play. At all the Crystal Challenge courses and Pinch Brook, golfers are allowed to continue play for up to 18 holes.
• Travel Leagues: the Saturday, Saturday 1X Month and Weekend travel leagues include 18-hole play with cart. Travel leagues should expect to play at courses with a travel distance up to 1 hour.
• The Thursday Crystal Springs Challenge league will rotate play among the Ballyowen, Black Bear, Crystal Springs, Great Gorge and Wild Turkey courses. A schedule will be provided at the beginning of the season.
• The competitive shortened league is for 8 weeks at Paramus during the months of May and June. A different format of games will be offered each week.
